11. OM PARAMATMANE NAMA:
Without an atma for Himself. Master of Himself.
Today's [4th March 2008] lecture is from the sannidhi established by Maha Narasimha advaryu, Abhinava Sukhabrahma, Mukkur Sri Lakshmi Narasimhachariyar Swami, in Venkatesan Street,T.Nagar, Chennai. Sri YagnaMoorthy, worshiped by the Swami, is gracing the devotees. The Lord here has graced hundreds of Yagna. We will pray Him for showering His blessings on all.
The last name Poothatma showed that He has no blemish and He is the repository of all auspicious qualities. Parmatma means there is none superior to Him. Alwar says that He has none equal and superior. Alwar further says that He Himself can not estimate His greatness. Paramatma also means the destroyer of enemies. He has no enemies; but will destroy those who harm His devotees. Mukkur Azhagiyasingar, the 44th Pontiff of Sri Ahobila Mutt and who constructed the tall Rajagopuram in Srirangam, says that Sri Narasimha is simple [shanta roopi] to be worshiped by devotees; but is seen ferocious [ugra roopi] for wicked persons. Yet another meaning also is there. Sri Mahalakshmi is called Parama, for Her merciful looks. Parama also means exalted. An highly esteemed Person can be associate with similar highly esteemed Person. So She is with the Lord. Paramatma means Atma of Sri Lakshmi or the Darling of Sri Lakshmi. Here atma means very dear.
