SVS 24

19. YOGAVIDHAM NETHTRE NAMA:
Bestower of Moksham to persons practicing Bhakti yoga.

Today's [14th March 2008] lecture is also from Sri Ahbila Mutt, Triplicane, Chennai.
Sudarsana mahajwala kotisoorya sama prabha
Agyanantha me deva vishnor marga pradharsaya ||
By this sloka it is prayed to remove ignorance from us. Yoga Nrusimha on the other side is seated on the hood of a serpent and holds Four Chakras in Four arms. He has Three eyes - Tapana [Sun], Indu [Moon] and Agni [Fire].
Shastras mention two ways to reach Vaikuntam:
1. Bhakti yoga
2. Saranagathi or total surrender.
Those performing Prapatti or Saranagathi, pray that they did not possess any skill to reach the Lord and so He Himself should get them Moksham. In this category all ordinary persons, like us, come. This was indicated in the last Divine name Yoga, where He is the Means to reach Him. There are persons who practice the difficult Bhakti yoga like Upakosala vidya, Sad vidya, Dhahara vidya, Sandilya vidya, etc. These are mentioned in Vedas clearly as ashtanga yoga. Netha means guide to accompany. So these people who practice Bhakti yoga are guided by the Lord to get them Moksham.
