SVS 20

15. OM SAAKSHINE NAMA:
With Supreme bliss, looking at Muktas having supreme bliss.

Today's [10th March 2008] lecture is also from Thillaisthanam, where Sri Srinivasa is gracing along with Sri Alarmelmangai Thayar. The Idol of the Lord here is captivating and brings peace to our mind. An unique feature of this Kshetram is the sannidhi of Anjaneya. Hanuman appears with the right hand holding up a pot of Amrutam. Normally in all other places Hanuman is seen with Sanjivi mount or a mace.
Sakshi means knower or viewer. He is so happy to see His devotees, who have reached Vaikuntam and become Mukthas, having boundless joy of serving Him and being in His company. Bhagavan is addressed as sarva gandha and sarva rasa. Rasa means taste. He is the cause for all tastes in all matters. Mukthas taste His company without interruption. This delights the Lord. It is said that the Lord is waiting in expectation at Sri Vaikuntam, for every atman to arrive. Parents are delighted greatest when their children listen to them and grow. Devotees similarly listen to His teachings and arrive at Moksham and so He gets the parental pleasure. Avyaya, Purusha, Sakshi, Kshetragya and Aksharaeva are all names around the experience Mukthas get in Vaikuntam. Thenthirupperai is one of the Navathiruppathi, near Alwar Thirunagari. The Lord is Sri Makaranedunkuzhaikadhar. Normally Garuda sannidhi is just opposite of the sannidhi of the Lord. But in this Kshetram, it is slightly away, to enable the Lord to have a view of the street in front of the temple. The Lord is delighted to see children playing in the street. So, He is Sakshi here. He is also the witness for whatever we do. We can never do anything in secret. Swami Nathamuni, grand father of Swami Alvandar, in his Nyaya satvam, says He is present in every organ, including mind, and watching us. There are Six witnesses for the Supremacy of the Lord as the Protector of all - Prahlada, Vibheeshana, Gajendra, Panchali [Draupati], Ahalya and Dhruva.
