SVS 21

16. OM KSHETRAGYAYA NAMA:
Knower of the Destination of Mukthas, Vaikuntam, the permanent wealth.

We ar today [11th March 2008] listening to the lecture from the Sri Ahobila Mutt sannidhi in Triplicane near the Chariot shed and near Sri Parthasarathy temple. Sri Nrusimha graces with the Godess of auspicious qualities, Sri Maha Lakshmi. Sri Nrusimha with Sri MahaLakshmi on His left lap -Sri Malola - is a special form for worship. We are sure to be blessed with Mangalam - all benign things in life. All our desires will be fulfilled.
Mukthas - the released souls- attain Him as the destination [Muktanama paramagathi]. Kshetragya means He knows the Vaikuntam well. Vaikuntam is also known as Ntyavibhooti or Ayodya or Aparajita or Suddhasatvam. In Varaha purana, the Lord shows the grandeur of Vaikunta to sage Agastya. River Viraja separates Vaikuntam from the Universe or Prakruti. Kshetram also means our body and as the controller of this, He is Kshetragya. He knows this Kshetram also. Kshetram means earth. By cultivating the earth and by proper seeding we reap good harvest. Similarly, by proper upkeep of this body and with Bhakti if we seed, we can harvest good crop. In the Brahmasoothram, the last soothram is anavruttisabda. It means the place from where there is no more return to this world is there ; that is Vaikuntam and He is the Lord of that Loka.
