SVS 59

53. OM STHAVISHTAYA NAMA: स्थविष्टाया नम:
Controller in all the objects we perceive.

We are in Madhurantakam, also known as Dwayam vilaindha thiruppathi [த்வயம் விளைந்த திருப்பதி]. Hare Swami Ramanuja was preached the mantra Dwyam, by Swami Periya Nambi [Maha Poorna]. Srimad Ramayanam is considered as Saranagathi Shastra, as it reveals the greatness of the Ultimate Surrender. Dwayam tells us that we fall at the feet of Sri Lakshmi and Sriman Narayana, so that we can always serve the Divine Couple. While in all other places we worship Swami Ramanuja as an ascetic with saffron robes, here alone we can see Swami Ramanuja blessing the devotees in the gruhastasrama with white robes, to mark his presence here before he renounced family life. In Shastras, sookshma [ minute] form is called the Cause and sthoola [ perceivable] form is the effect or result. These are called karana and karya effects. Like the minute seed from which great trees emerge and which yield many seeds and each of them concealing great trees and so on. Seed is karanam [कारणं ] and tree is the karyam [कार्यम] . In Sri Vamana avatar, the Lord came as a minute Dwarf and then grew gigantic to cover all the Universe.
