31. OM SAMBHAVAYA NAMA:
Hidden treasure, revealing at appropriate time and place.

Today's [1st April 2008] lecture is from Sri Kuralappan sannidhi, near the South Gopuram of Srirangam Temple. Sri Kuralappan means Sri Vamana. Worshiping Him, He blesses children for the devotees. He is the treasure trove for those devoted to Him. Hidden wealth is not enjoyed by anyone, including the person who hid it. By the word sambhava, this Treasure of the Lord Himself, is revealed to His devotees. He is unborn but at the same time is born. It means, He is not born like us because of our past karma. But, He is born on His own volition. By taking avatars or being in temples, He, the Unseen, is revealing for people to see Him. In Gita, He says in the sloka paritranaya saadhoonam.., sambhavami yuge yuge. To rescue pious persons He makes Himself available every yug. In the process He destroys evil persons. He establishes Dharma. This He does on His own will and sankalpam. Prasni and Suthapas prayed the Lord and when He appeared to bless them, they repeated thrice that He should be born to them as a Child and so the Lord decided to have them as His parents and took Avatars. As Sri Prasnigarbha to Prasni- Suthapas couple, as Sri Vamana to Adhithi-Kashyapa couple and as Sri Krishna to Devaki-Vasudeva couple. This birth is called sambhavam.
